GATE Exam Eligibility Criteria

Before any further details we would like you to know about the eligibility criteria of the GATE. Aspirants who eagerly want to appear in the examination must have the following eligibility criteria:

  1. Firstly Indian Aspirants are eligible for Gate along with those who belong to nepal, sri lanka, singapore, Ethiopia, Bangladesh and United Arab Emirates.
  2.  Bachelor’s degree from any recognized institution in Technology/Engineering/Technology/ Architecture (4 Years after passing 12th/Post-Bsc/Post-Diploma) is mandatory as it is the examination of post-graduation. Moreover if you have qualified or are in the final year of Master’s degree then it must be from the following subjects Mathematics/Science/Statistics/ Computer.
  3. There is no minimum age limit set by the board of GATE for appearing in the examination.

GATE Exam Pattern

A better knowledge about something always leads to a good point. Make your daily study schedule according to the exam pattern of the GATE. The paper will comprises of 65 questions with total of 100 marks, Duration of 3 hour will be given to the candidates and in that duration they have to answer various question divided into three sections. The first one is of General Aptitude (Mandatory), secondly the Engineering Mathematics and thirdly the section of that specific subject, you have opted earlier.Also, if we take a look towards the marking scheme of GATE then, by correcting an MCQs you get 1 mark else 1/3 will be deducted, for wrong 2 mark MCQs 2/3 mark will be deducted, Zero when you not attempt your question and there is no negativity marks will be done for Numerical Type Questions.
